Welcome to Reception's class page where you can find out all the information you need to support your child in school.
Below is some information about what Reception children will be learning this year. We hope you visit this page often to see some of the fun and interesting things we do in class.
Thank you to all parents for supporting us as the children enter in the morning and leave at the end of the school day. Can we remind you that the school starts at 8.45a.m.
Please ensure that you put your child’s name on every item of clothing.
Children have been given a copy of the school dinner menu to take home. All reception children are entitled to a FREE school meal. If your child is having a school dinner please look at the menu and discuss the choices with them so that they can decide what they would like. Children will choose their lunch during morning register.
Snack is £1 per week and is payable at the beginning of the week. Please ensure that you keep up to date with your snack money. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to one of the team.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
It is so important that your child attends school every day unless they are too sick to come in. If your child is going to be absent, please ring school to let us know. Please make sure that your child arrives at school on time (8.45am for reception children). Learning begins the minute your child sets foot into the classroom.
Reading books are sent home on Friday, therefore your child will bring a different reading book/game home on these days (if reading record book has been signed and returned to school). Please read with your child for a short period each night encouraging them to sound out unfamiliar words and read with fluency. Books should be returned by Tuesday at the latest. Please make a short comment in your child’s reading record and return this with the reading book on the days stated so that we know that they have read. There is a £3 charge for any lost or damaged reading books.
We will also be sending copies home of the sounds your child has learnt every week in their phonics lesson for you to turn into flash cards to practise with your child.
Thank you for your continued support!
