Our time this year was cut short and it feels like such a long time since we have seen each other and been busy bees in our classroom! I am so proud of all of the hard work you have been doing at home and I have loved all of the pictures you have sent into me. Each and every picture brought a smile to my face, you are such fabulous little learners!
This would have been our last week in school and you would have had some transition visits with your teachers. However this year we have to do this a little differently! Your new teachers will be uploading Powerpoints for you to meet them on our school website and I know you will recognise them from around school. I have told them how great you are and they are very excited to meet you.
I know some of you will feel a little bit unsure and cautious about starting your new class so I have included a story for you to read down below that will reassure you and a few little activities for you to complete and bring with you on your first day of Year 1. Also don't forget you can access all the links on the class page all summer so you can carry on enjoying all of your favourite games, websites and activities. I have added a little end of year poem for you all, I hope you enjoy it.
We’ve done so much together; we laughed, smiled and grown.
But now we really must say goodbye,
As you're on to your next adventure,
I must let you spread your wings and fly.
Going home covered in paint,
Or being top to toe in mud,
The endless choice of activities,
Has simply been so good.
I think you’re very special,
And I just wanted you to know,
Our time together has been amazing,
I’m so sad to see you go!
Remember to come and visit,
I would love to see you grow,
You have a lot to learn ahead,
But there is one thing you should know:
The thing that makes you wonderful,
And will shine through all you do,
Is just to be yourself,
And be proud that you are you!
Wishing you all the best of luck in your Year 1 journey. You will all be fantastic and I can't wait to see you all in September looking very grown up! Have a lovely summer and keep smiling and being your amazing selves.
Love Miss Pinnington
