Good morning Year 5/6!
We have finally made it to the end of the week! I am so proud of both you and your parents for all your hard work.
Today’s task is going to be a little different, instead of focusing on individual subjects (ofcourse if you still want to, you have all that information inside your packs that were sent home and the extra links which are on the school website).
On Friday’s we are going to be doing the Family Friday Project!
This is where I set a task that can be completed throughout the day surrounding a theme. This weeks theme is Family.
Tasks:
1. Create a family news paper.
- Think of a name for the newspaper.
- Design the front page with all the articles you will write.
- Write several stories relating to your family. Even though you can’t visit, you can still FaceTime and interview them!
Potential Newspaper Ideas:
What are family members doing during lockdown?
Favourite hobby and why.
Article on somebody’s job.
Day in the life of your parents.
The list is endless!
2. Create a family tree and be creative as possible!
Here are some ideas below!
3. Go outside and create a nature picture of your family.
A Family Portrait
You can use anything you find outside: sticks, mud, flowers, moss etc...
4. Go out In your garden and do something altogether as a family!
Here are some ideas!
-Put on a talent show.
-Learn a new dance routine.
-Act out scenes from your favourite family movie.
-Sing and dance together.
-Play/learn a new game!
You can do anything.
The only rule I’m setting is you have to do it as a family!
5. Design some rainbows and put them in your windows to brighten up people’s days during this tough time and to say thank you to the NHS staff!
The brighter the better! Make sure the whole family is involved 🌈
Remember to tweet me any work you have been doing on Twitter @StMariesKirkby!
Have a wonderful Friday and a lovely relaxing weekend! Speak to you Monday :)

Good morning Year 5/6,
How are you all? Please tweet me @StMariesKirkby to let me know how you are all getting on.
Make sure you are staying active during this time! Try and invent a new game for us to try.
I have been checking TimesTable Rockstars and noticed not many of you have been on. I have set up some battles with the teachers for you to have a go at.
See you tomorrow,
Miss Farrelly

Good morning Year 5/6CF,
I hope you have had a lovely week so far and are enjoying taking part in the body coach’s morning PE sessions! I am really enjoying them, so I hope you are all too.
Please remember that learning from home is a new adventure for all of us – You, your parents and I! However, as each day passes and the more people stay at home and stay safe we should all be back in St Marie’s soon.
Today’s Task: Do one good thing for someone at home that is helping you during this time (for example, make them breakfast, pay them a compliment or you could simply give them 15 minutes to themselves to relax with their feet up).
You have got this Year 5/6CF!
Speak to you tomorrow J
