  • Practise saying and writing the sounds that we have already looked at  (m,a,s,d, t, i, n, p, g, o, c, k, u, b, f, e, l, h, r, j, v, y, w, z, q and x)
  • Watch the following short videos all about the 'sh' and 'th' sounds:

 Go on a scavenger hunt around your house to find things/places that begin with the ‘sh’ sound e.g, shoe, shed, shelf. It may be tricky to find objects that begin with th, have a chat about some words that you can think of such as Thursday, thing, thirsty or thumb

The 'horrible beast' that rises from the ditch is made up of the different animals. Use Switchzoo to create a new creature (like the 'horrible beast') by combining other animals.




 Draw a picture of your new ‘horrible beast’.



Visit ‘The Gruffalo’ website

  • Listen to the Gruffalo song, learn the ‘Monkey Puzzle’ song in makaton and dance along to the ‘Gruffalo’s Child’ song. There are also some great interactive games in the play and explore area. Colour your own Gruffalo using the paint game, create your own monster on monster maker and much more.
