At St Marie's Catholic Primary School, our vision is for all of our children to have an understanding of our past and how History will shape their future. We encourage children to be interested and excited to learn about the past.

Our History curriculum encompasses topics which foster awe and wonder and drive children to ask questions linked to the period they are studying. Children use a range of resources that bring history to life, for example: photographs, diaries, newspaper articles, music, school trips and also handle real objects from the past.

The History topics will help children to gain an understanding of the complexity of people’s lives and the process of change; as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time.
