Good morning Year 1,
I am missing all your smiling faces! I hope you have had a lovely Easter with your family and enjoyed taking part in some of the activities I set for you.
The spring is definitely here and we have had lots of beautiful sunshine over the last two weeks. Remember to make sure you are trying to go outside everyday for a little bit of exercise and see what things you can explore in your local area!

Maths
Try the dice addition game. Can you challenge a member of your family? Remember if you don’t have dice you could use folded pieces of paper to choose numbers from! How many addition sums can you complete?
Reading
Purple Mash- Log in and find the tab that says ‘Serial Mash’. Click on ‘Diamonds’ and choose the book ’A Village Full of Vegetables’. Read chapter 1 and answer the questions in our quiz. Can you get 3/3?
There is also a jigsaw for you to try. Can you complete the picture?
English
Read the poem ‘Daffodils’ in the attached spring booklet. Can you write an acrostic poem all about spring? Look at the words to help you. Remember to use your beautiful handwriting!
Creative time
During spring we see lots of new signs of life including butterflies. Can you make a folded paper butterfly? Follow the instructions attached. Remember you can make it as colourful as you want and display it somewhere to celebrate your fantastic artwork!
Science
Today I would like you to try ‘I-Spy Scavenger Hunt!’ Attached is a link for you to print or you could create your own in your exercise book. Can you spot any signs of spring? How have things changed since winter? You could write a sentence underneath your hunt to explain your findings!
