Monday 30th March

Good morning Year 1!

I hope you have had a lovely weekend spending time as a family and you feel refreshed for the week ahead! This week some of our activities are going to be focused on animals!

On Friday Chester Zoo hosted a virtual day so we could see all of the animals and learn some interesting facts about them! My favourite zoo animal is an elephant. What is yours?

I have attached the link if you didn't manage to see this as this may help with your English activities this week.

Daily PE

30 Minute PE session with Joe- Link on our home learning page

Outdoor scavenger hunt- Can you find: Leaves that look different, a flower, something that is heavy, something that needs sun to live, something that begins with the letter ‘M’ or an item smaller than your thumb?

Daily phonics- your child to practice their sounds and blend words

Complete sheet in pack

(Ruth Miskin is also doing a daily phonics lesson on Facebook and Youtube for children to watch at home and practice speed sounds. Details attached at bottom of this page) – Choose a game!

Play on ‘Hit the Button’ – Focus on number bonds to 10 and 20.

Can you write some calculations in your exercise book?

Purple Mash- Log in and find the tab that says ‘Serial Mash’. Click on ‘Diamonds’ and choose the book 'Ned and the Jungle Animals'. Read chapter 1 and answer the questions in our quiz. Can you get 3/3?

Write a set of questions about animals you would like to find out about.

Research about your favourite zoo animals to find the answers to your questions. You could use your ipad/computer or find a book and read some facts together. E.g. What do tigers eat?

Creative time

Create a mask: Using different materials around the house create a mask of their favourite animal. Think about the colours and shape. Can they add different textures to their mask?

Cosmic Yoga- All about monkeys!

Enjoy your day and keep smiling!
