Punctuation and Grammar

For today's activity, I would like you to have a look again at punctuating speech.


When you are writing and someone is talking, you have to use inverted commas (or speech marks) to show the reader that somebody is speaking. 


For example, without using speech marks it looks like this  -   I can't believe this is happening! said Lucy.


With speech marks, it is a lot clearer and looks like - "I can't believe this is happening!" said Lucy.
