Thursday 23rd April

Hello everyone!  Please find your activities for today down below, take part, enjoy and don't forget to send your pictures to me on twitter!

Please join in with the daily RWI sessions on YouTube (link below). Each lesson is available for 24 hours so you can access it at whatever time is best for you. Each session has 3 parts which all link together, it would be fantastic if you completed each part. For set 1 sounds they should be completed in this order:

1. Speed sound lesson.

2. Word time lesson.

3. Spelling lesson.

If you are up for a challenge and already fully confident with your set 1 sounds (including writing words) you should access the set 2 sound and spelling lessons. I would be so pleased to see some of your fantastic writing, so if you could send it to the school twitter it would make me very happy.

As well as your reading during your phonics sessions I would love if you could read a book at home with someone, can you sound out some of the words? Can you find any tricky words? You can also access e-books on the Oxford Owl website for free! You just need to create a log in. Follow the link below and sign yourself up and select age range 4-5 and get reading! Today I am challenging you to reading a RWI book independently, try 'Nog in the Fog'. Can you read the words by using Fred in your head?

So today we are going to identify properties of 2D shapes. First watch the numberblocks flatland youtube video below. We have explored this before in class, did you remember? We are going to look at how many sides and corners some 2D shapes have. I would like you to look again at the shape mat and count how many sides and corner each shape has. Which shape has the most sides? Do all the shapes have corners? Do your grown ups/siblings know any more 2D shapes? Ask them to show you one and you can count the corners and sides together.

Physical Development/Expressive Arts

An all time favourite in our class! Access the gonoodle link below and get twisting and shouting! Do you remember the moves? Try your best to copy them, can you add some of your own? If you remember the words sing along as loud as you can! I bet your grown ups know this song, ask them to join in with you, you can teach them the moves. I will be joining in at home too!

Picture News

On the main home learning page I have added a section called 'Picture News' it contains information for your grown ups and some great activities for you. It will really get your brain working and I would love for you to have ago at it, possibly one small activity each day and let me know some of the ideas and thoughts you have. I will add a new picture and new activities for this each week.

Please find any links to websites I mention at the bottom of this page.

Keep up the super work and keep sending me pictures to make me smile! I’ll be back tomorrow with more challenges for you all.
Take care, Miss Pinnington.
