Hello nursery children!

I hope you are all doing well and keeping safe. Enjoy today's activities. Just do what you can!

If you do any of today's tasks, don't forget to share it on our Twitter page at and tag @StMariesKirkby so I can see!

Take care,

Mrs Wignall x

  • Practise saying and writing the sounds that we have already looked at  (m,a,s,d, t, i, n, p, g, o, c, k, u, b, f, e, l, h, r, j, v, y, w, z, qu, x, sh, th, ch ng and nk)

  • Write different sounds on paper. Help your child in putting the sounds together to make different words changing the initial sound each time e.g:

                                                          t-i-n (tin), b-i-n (bin), ch-i-n (chin), p-i-n (pin) etc

                                       c-a-t (cat), h-a-t (hat), b-a-t (bat), m-a-t (mat) etc

  • Support your child in comparing the size of objects from around the house or outside. Ask them if the object is longer, the same length or shorter? Order the objects.

  • Listen to a space themed online story like the ones below:

       Aliens Love Underpants-

       Roaring Rockets-

       Whatever Next?-

  • Which is your favourite? Why?

Make a Textured Planet

● Work with your child to create a replica of a planet. You could papier mache a balloon, or colour, paint or stick bits of materials on to the card to create textured effects
