Tuesday 21st April

Hello Reception! Miss Pinnington here, I am so happy to be back. I am missing you all very much!  Hope you are all well and having lots of fun in the sun at home. Did you have a lovely Easter? I hope so! Please find any links to websites I mention at the bottom of this page.

Physical Development

Please use the link on our main page to access the Joe Wicks daily PE session. I have been doing them at home, will you do it with me? It makes my heart beat so fast, can you remember why our heart beats fast when we exercise? Send a video of yourself keeping fit and healthy to the twitter page for me to watch!

Expressive Arts and Design

Access the gonoodle website, click get started then families and find the popping bubbles video. Make up your own dance moves, how will you pop the bubbles? Can you sing along? Did you know you can make bubble mixture with just water and washing up liquid? Give it a try at home. (Gonoodle has a games app which is free to all)

Please join in with the daily RWI sessions on YouTube (link below). Each lesson is a viable for 24 hours so you can access it at whatever time is best for you. Each session has 3 parts which all link together, it would be fantastic if you completed each part. For set 1 sounds they should be completed in this order:

1. Speed sound lesson.

2. Word time lesson.

3. Spelling lesson.

If you are up for a challenge and already fully confident with your set 1 sounds (including writing words) you should access the set 2 sound and spelling lessons. I would be so pleased to see some of your fantastic writing, so if you could send it to the school twitter it would make me very happy.

I know you have been learning about different minibeasts at home and I wondered if you could design your own minibeast shape! Draw some 2D shapes (such as a rectangle, square, oval etc) and then decorate them with minibeasts! Will you have a spider triangle? Or a ladybird square? Get creative! How many 2D shapes can you remember?

As well as your reading during your phonics sessions I would love if you could read a book at home with someone, can you sound out some of the words? Can you find any tricky words? You can also access e-books on the Oxford Owl website for free! You just need to create a log in. Follow the link below and sign yourself up and select age range 4-5 and get reading!

Keep up the fantastic work and keep those big smiles beaming! I’ll be back tomorrow with more challenges for you all.
Take care, Miss Pinnington.
