Year 2

            Welcome to Year 2

Class Teacher: Miss Armstrong

Teaching Assistant: Miss Johanson

Welcome to year 2!

This Summer will be very fun and busy for the children in year 2.

Home Reader

We would like parents and children to continue with our reading at home scheme. It is important to practise comprehension skills and to develop reading with fluency once the children have grasped their phonics skills. Reading every day will improve their confidence and embed objectives that they have been studying in class. Home reading books will be changed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Children will be rewarded for reading and returning their home reading books.

Homework and spellings will be uploaded to Seesaw. Children are expected to complete all tasks and post any completed work back through the 'respond' tab, this enables progress to be monitored.

Spelling Club

Spelling club is a Y2 extracurricular club in which will take place via Seesaw on Tuesday's after school 3:25-4:15. Fun and interactive spelling activities will be uploaded to Seesaw for children to engage with at home. Responses/uploads are expected by 4:15. Spelling club will provide further support for the children in their spellings and overall support their development across all areas of the curriculum.

Please ensure your child has the correct uniform including black school shoes (no trainers) and that each item is clearly labelled, including their coat and P.E. Kit.

P.E kits consist of a white top, black/navy blue shorts and black pumps.

P.E is currently on a Wednesday afternoon. Children should come to school in their P.E kit.

Water Bottles

Children should bring in a water bottle to keep them hydrated during the day.

Many thanks

Miss Armstrong
