Welcome to year 2!
This Autumn term is a busy time for year 2 children with everybody returning to school full time.
It is very important that your child is punctual and attends school every day so that they do not miss important lessons.
We would like parents and children to continue with our reading at home scheme. It is important to practise comprehension skills and to develop reading with fluency once the children have grasped their phonics skills. Reading every day will improve their confidence and embed objectives that they have been studying in class. Home reading books will be changed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
During this first part of the autumn term homework will be linked to reading skills and phonics moving on to topics we are covering in class. Some weeks it will be maths and other weeks it will be Literacy or both. Homework will be given on a Friday and handed in on a Tuesday.
P.E is on a Monday afternoon. Children should come to school in their P.E kits. This should consist of a white top, black/navy blue shorts and black pumps.
Children should bring in a water bottle to keep them hydrated during the day.
