Welcome to Year 3 class page where you can find out all the information you need to support your child’s learning. Below is some information about the things your child will be taught this year. We hope you visit this page often to see the progress your children are making and see how much fun they are having.
Year 3 is an important year for your child as they become Juniors moving to Key Stage 2.
It is extremely important that your child attends school every day unless they are too sick to come in. If your child is going to be absent, please ring the school to let us know.
Please make sure that your child arrives at school on time (8.50 am).
Please ensure your child has the correct uniform and has their name in everything including their coat and P.E Kit. For P.E children should have a white T-Shirt, black or navy shorts or joggers and black pumps. They can wear their PE kit to come to school on their PE day. This half term we do Gymnastics on a Monday.
Please complete the reading book form to indicate that you you’re your child to bring a school reading book home.
Reading books to be brought in by Friday to be changed the following Monday.
Please read with your child for a short period each night encouraging them to sound out unfamiliar words and read with fluency and expression. Please make a comment in your child’s reading record and return this with the reading book on the days stated. There is a £3 charge for any lost or damaged reading books.
Spellings will be sent out each half term with the Year 3 spellings for each week. We are also practicing these in class. There is a homework menu detailing homework that can be completed for the half term.
Children are encouraged to bring water to drink in the classroom. Please provide your child with a refillable bottle if possible to reduce the amount of plastic waste in our environment.
If your child needs an inhaler, could you please send it in with a name label and instructions on when to take it. All parents must sign a medical consent form in the main Reception to authorise any medicines to be administered by staff.
We are looking forward to working with you and your child this year.
Below you will find two Home Learning Links. Please select the correct link depending on how many days your child has to self- isolate. I have included a suggested timetable for you to follow. The timetable will follow the usual structure of a school day.
use the 14 day timetable if for any reason your child's class has to self isolate and the 5 day plan if for any reason your child has to self isolate for up to 5 days.
Each star will provide you with a range of resources and online lessons. Please look at the long term map for the progression.
