Inclusion Quality Mark

We are incredibly proud to share that St. Marie’s Catholic Primary School has been awarded Centre of Excellence status by the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) as of May 2025. This prestigious recognition celebrates our school’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every child is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.

The IQM Award acknowledges schools that go above and beyond to create an environment where all pupils—regardless of background, need, or ability—can thrive. Being recognised as a Centre of Excellence means we are not only meeting the highest standards of inclusive practice but also actively sharing and developing this expertise to support other schools on their inclusion journeys.

This award reflects the dedication of our entire school community: staff, pupils, parents, and governors working together to make sure every child is seen, heard, and celebrated.

The 2025 report stated:

''The strength of St. Marie’s community connections is perhaps best evidenced in the stories shared by pupils, parents, and staff—stories of mutual support, trust, and unity. The school’s inclusive ethos extends far beyond its walls, making it a true cornerstone of the community and an inspiring example of education as a collective force for good.''

''The partnership between school and home at St. Marie’s is an outstanding example of inclusive community engagement—one that strengthens outcomes for children and fosters collective responsibility for their success.''

''What stands out is the depth of support offered to families beyond the academic. The school team goes above and beyond to provide wraparound care, including food provision, uniform support, counselling access and attendance mentoring. These practical efforts remove barriers and build genuine relationships grounded in care and dignity.''

Parents said:

''Parents I spoke to during the visit described were delighted with the direction the school had taken under its new leadership and praised the staff for their unwavering support and understanding. It was commented on how the school had not only supported their children academically and emotionally but had also been a pillar of strength during times of crisis.''

''Parents describe the school as a vital support system, especially during challenging times. Inclusive initiatives such as parent sessions reinforce community ties, while families of children with SEND needs feel especially valued and supported. Overall, the school’s approach to family engagement is a powerful model of inclusive, community-driven education.''
