At St. Marie’s, we place great importance on the role of reading in every child’s education. Reading at home with your child, even for just a few minutes each day, makes a real difference to their progress and helps to develop a lifelong love of books. We use Read Write Inc. Phonics to support our youngest readers in building the skills they need to become fluent and confident. By practising together at home, you are reinforcing what your child is learning in school and giving them the chance to celebrate their growing independence as a reader.
